Well folks! We’ve done it… well kind of. The Piedmont One Mic Acoustic convention is almost upon us. And what started as a funded idea and some, “how in the world are we going to pull this off’s?”, is now a convention with a home, posters, food, and MUSIC! After having to re-print posters, we have decided on the beauty that is displayed on this webpage. There were a lot of opinions to take into account, but perfection takes time. The wonderful Franklinville Restaurant has agreed to stay open late so that all of the party people in attendance will be well nourished all weekend long. Also, we now have two headlining bands for the weekend! Spencer Branch and The Honey Dew Drops will be playing Saturday evening on the mainstage.
About Spencer Branch
Spencer Branch is the collaboration of siblings Martha and Kilby Spencer from Whitetop Mountain along with North Carolina native Kelley Breiding. They play music drawn from their mountain heritage in addition to traditional country, bluegrass, and a healthy dose of original songs. Their vocal harmonies and exciting fiddle tunes are a powerful combination sure to keep you entertained.
About The Honey Dewdrops
Laura Wortman and Kagey Parrish are celebrating their 9th year of touring full time as The Honey Dewdrops, having played stages and festivals far and wide in North America and Europe. With tight harmonies and a musical ensemble that includes clawhammer banjo, mandolin and guitars, the effect is to leave listeners with only what matters: the heart of the song and clarity over ornamentation.
